Biography

Mary Ann Burgess, 51, of Mt. Hope, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at her residence. Born December 1, 1958 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Garnet Bailey Bennett. Mary was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by and infant daughter, Crystal Flint and an infant sister, Alice Bennett. Survivors include her husband, Victor Burgess, daughter, Donna Spring Young and husband John of Beckley, grandson, Patrick Young of Beckley, step-daughters; Jamie Anderson of Texas and Caitlin Wilcox of Mullens, WV, brother, Wayne Bennett and wife Cathy of Prosperity, aunt, Norma McKinney of Hinton, WV, uncle, Richard Bailey of Newark, DE and numerous cousins including Bonnie Ward of Mullens, WV.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rick Metrick officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
