Biography

Emma Lee Lilly, 85, of Coal City passed away at her residence Friday, January 22, 2010. Born May 7, 1924 at Oxley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lowell and Maude Snyder Lilly. Emma was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Willard Lilly and a son, Tommy Lee Lilly. Survivors include sons; James Lilly and wife Zane and Eddie Lilly and wife Linda both of concord, NC, Darrell Lilly and wife Cheryl of Clem, WV, Johnny Lilly and wife Sharon of Thomasville, NC, Raymond Lilly and Gary Lilly both of Burlington, NC, Billy Joe Lilly of Beckley, daughters; Sue Shrewsbury and husband Ray of Scarbro, NC, Judy Lilly of Beckley, Margaret Landis and husband Jere of Savannah, GA, Debbie Hopkins and husband James of Coal City with whom she had made her home for the past 4 ½ years. Linda Hopkins and husband David of Coal City, 54 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Overdorf officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until time of service on Monday. Burial will follow in the Blue Jay Cemetery at Beaver. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
